April and May Assignments

Pre-K 
       Students will write short messages that move left to right and top to bottom on the page. Begin to identify ending punctuation marks such as periods, question marks and exclamation marks.
Pre-K students will write a short messages about a story read in class. Examples and modeling will be provided to students.
Kindergarten 
      Students will be learning how to write sentences using correct punctuation and capitalization. Students will also learn how to summarize and retell story facts. Students will listen to a fairytale story and  summarize it as well as use illustrations from the story to retell main events.
1st grade 
       Students in the first grade  will write Narrative stories. Students will have a descriptive picture of three ficitional characters in a beach . Students will use this example to create thier own fictional story. Students will learn how to use connecting vocabulary phrases to organize story . They will learn how to organize stories to a beggining middle and end.
2nd grade
       Students will read the fictional story of "Rafi amnd Rosi Carnival" and  disscuss ficitonal characters by completing  worksheets that analyze chararcters. Students will choose beween the two main chararcters in the story and analyze what they did in the story at the begiging and at the end of the story. Students will analyze all the traits of the character chosen.
5th Grade
